Mediage Ltd wins PR Agency of the Year for the second consecutive year
Mediage Ltd has cemented its reputation as a leader in Uganda’s public relations industry by
winning the coveted PR Agency of the Year award for the second consecutive year.
This prestigious accolade was announced at the 8th Public Relations Association of Uganda
(PRAU) Excellence Awards, held on Friday, November 29, at Protea Hotel Kampala, under the
theme “Recognising Innovation.”
The agency’s outstanding performance also earned it two additional awards: the Corporate
Communication Campaign of the Year and the Overall PR Campaign of the Year 2024. These
achievements underscore Mediage Ltd’s ability to deliver impactful, creative, and results-driven
communication strategies that resonate with clients and stakeholders.
Commenting on the awards, Mediage Ltd’s Lead Consultant, John Chihi, expressed heartfelt
gratitude for the unwavering support of clients and the dedication of the agency’s team.
“Winning these awards is a testament to our commitment to delivering transformative
communication strategies that drive results for our clients. We remain steadfast in our pursuit of
excellence and innovation,” he said.
The judges, led by Dr. Innocent Nahabwe, commended the submissions while offering
constructive feedback to enhance future participation. Dr. Nahabwe praised the efforts of PR
professionals for embracing the competitive awards process but noted the need for more robust
entries in certain categories.
“We expected more submissions in crisis communication management campaign, considering
how often companies handle crises. In addition, the student award category had weak entries,
making it challenging to identify an outright winner,” he observed.
He also pointed out instances where organizations entered categories that did not align with
their campaigns, calling for more precision in future submissions.
The awards ceremony brought together top PR practitioners, government officials, and
corporate leaders in a celebration of innovation, excellence, and the transformative power of
public relations.
Hon. Shartsi Musherure, Mawogola County North Member of Parliament and Guest of Honour,
lauded PRAU for promoting professionalism and innovation.
“Awards like these enhance PR professionals’ credibility and inspire practitioners to work to their
highest potential. They also contribute to visibility and open new business opportunities,” she
remarked.
Musherure pledged her support for advancing the Public Relations Practitioners’ Bill in
Parliament, emphasizing its potential to regulate and elevate the PR profession in Uganda.
PRAU President Tina Wamala celebrated the winners for their creativity and dedication. She
highlighted the importance of innovation in shaping the industry, calling it “the spark that ignites
creativity and fuels progress.”
She urged PR professionals to continue pushing boundaries and experimenting with new ideas
to achieve excellence.
The win was also a proud moment for Mediage Ltd’s clients. Rhona Arinaitwe, Senior Manager,
Corporate Communications at MTN Uganda, congratulated the agency for its well-deserved
recognition.
“Mediage’s innovative and strategic approach to communication has been instrumental in
amplifying our brand’s presence and impact. This award reflects their dedication and aligns with
our vision to continue delivering exceptional experiences to our stakeholders,” she said.
Samuel Matekha, Head Marketing and Communication at Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) Uganda,
echoed the sentiment, emphasizing Mediage’s value as a trusted partner.
“Working with Mediage has elevated our public relations efforts. Their creativity,
professionalism, and ability to craft campaigns that resonate with our audiences make them a
vital partner. This recognition is well-earned, and we look forward to continuing our
collaboration,” he said.
Mediage Ltd’s recognition at the PRAU Excellence Awards reflects its commitment to innovation
and its role in redefining PR excellence in Uganda. With a strong foundation of creativity,
professionalism, and impactful campaigns, the agency continues to set the benchmark for public
relations in the region.
