Alur King HRH Philip Olarker Rauni III Gifts RA Omukama of Bunyoro-Kitara with a Cow.*

In a remarkable gesture of friendship and tradition, yesterday the King of the Alur Chiefdom, His Royal Highness Philip Olarker Rauni III, fulfilled his pledge of a cow to Rukirabasaija Dr. Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I, the Omukama of Bunyoro-Kitara.

The symbolic gift underscores the strong historical ties and working relationship between the two cultural institutions.

The gesture follows HRH Philip Olarker Rauni III’s official visit to the Omukama’s Karuzika Royal Palace on September 13, 2024, during which the two leaders discussed strengthening relations and enhancing cooperation between their respective kingdoms ans exchanged pleasantries whereby the visiting monarch then also offered a cow.

During the visit, the Alur King also appointed Mr. Moris Ngabitho as the official Alur envoy to Bunyoro-Kitara to facilitate ongoing collaboration.

Fulfilling this mission, Mr. Ngabitho personally delivered the cow on behalf of the Alur King.

The gift was officially received by Mr. Katusabe Alex Abooki, the Chief Administrative Secretary of Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom, on behalf of the Prime Minister, Owek. Andrew Byakutaga.

In his remarks, Mr. Katusabe extended sincere appreciation to HRH Philip Olarker Rauni III for his generous act, noting that the gift symbolized a renewed commitment to strengthening the historical and cultural bonds between the two institutions.

He further assured the Alur King of continued collaboration and goodwill between the two kingdoms.

The exchange highlights the deep-rooted traditions of mutual respect and appreciation among Uganda’s cultural leaders, reinforcing unity and cooperation for the prosperity of their people.
