WE’RE ALSO VIPS-BUSOGA RDCS FIRES AT MUVAWALA

A section of Resident District Commissioners and Resident City Commissioners (RDCs & RCCs) within Busoga region have vowed to boycott all the kingdom security meetings and key events, accusing the Prime Minister Joseph Muvawala of disrespecting them on several occasions.

One RDC who spoke to this site on condition of anonymity stated that a case in point was yesterday when HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and 1st Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni hosted His Highness, the Kyabazinga of Busoga, and Her Royal Highness, the Inhebantu of Busoga Jovia Mutesi to a luncheon in their honour at State House Entebbe.

This RDC said when Muvawala was introducing guests at this event from Busoga, he introduced LC chairpersons, and other political leaders up to the MPs but ‘intentionally’ skipped the RDCs.

Some of the RDCs who attended Entebbe event include; Busoga whip Gulume Richard, Bayoole Stanley [Inhebantu’s father] Dhikusooka Majid, Prossy Mwanjuzi, Amula Albert, Ntange Andrew and Muvawala’s wife Namara Juliet.

”We are surely not happy at all. Mr Muvawala has on several occasions disrespected us. At yesterday’s event in Entebbe we were five RDCs/RCCs, he only introduced his wife who is a deputy RDC of Namisindwa district, Ms Namara Juliet and ignored the rest of us!” fumed one RDC who preferred to remain anonymous.

This RDC says this is not the first time. He says during the Kyabazinga’s royal wedding they contributed over Ugx50m but were not even given invitation cards.

”Man just know we have just been dying in silence due to how the Kingdom treats us! At the wedding alone, some of us we were just flocking, and others were totally denied entry, but imagine this is an RDC, Mr Muvawala makes us look mean to that extent but we are now tired of that and they shouldn’t expect us into their things anymore!,” fumed the RDC.

The RDCs are non-political leaders appointed by the President of Uganda and serve as his representatives in the districts. Their primary role is to coordinate government programs and policies at the grassroots level, ensuring effective implementation and service delivery.

But they also play a pivotal role in governance and administration at the district level. These government officials hold significant responsibilities, acting as the link between the central government and local authorities.
